Introduction	I am currently Director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) at the University of Montana. As I am in Montana now, I am no longer actively maintaining this blog, although I will post on rare occasions as I am still following some of these issues from out-of-state. This blog was created in 2008 after I moved to California to run a research and outreach Center at the University of the Pacific Eberhardt School of Business. Over 16 years at Pacific, I progressed through various positions, ultimately relocating to the Sacramento campus and a joint appointment as a Professor of Public Policy at McGeorge School of Law. This blog is a personal journal grounded in my professional expertise in regional economic growth and development and environmental economics. As a personal journal, it reflects my thoughts at a particular time.
