|Introduction||The truth is, this is fiction, and I am not Elizabeth. I am a writer who likes to write. But the story goes that there is more to being a writer than writing, including "getting your voice out there.” I choose not to blog but rather to share a story. Elizabeth is the main character, and One Click Away is written in the first person so I’ll pretend to be Elizabeth. She and I have similarities but we are not the same. I am not bored or tired. I run, eat well and feel good. My husband is a golfer, and like any woman at home with young children, I am lonely sometimes. I have a place outside of my house and time to write. I did dream once about needing to go deeper and find the passion, and it was around the time that I turned 40. But I knew what the dream meant, and it had nothing to do with Facebook, younger men or a lost love. It was time for me to go deeper, find the passion, do what I've always dreamed of doing. It was time to write. My name is not Elizabeth, but she will be my “voice.” This is a story that I wrote.|
|Favorite Movies||Whatever my kids want to see, especially if it involves 3D-glasses. There is nothing cuter than a five year old with 3D-glasses the size of their head.|
|Favorite Music||I listen to the same stuff my kids listen to, partly because I want to know what they're listening to and partly because, as my husband says, I'll always be a hipster.|
|Favorite Books||Watership Down, A Prayer for Owen Meany and The World According to Garp (Irving changed the way I thought about writers), Waiting for Godot (perfect), The Secret Life of Bees, The Handmaid's Tale.|
You've rented a sky-writer to propose to your significant other, but it's completely overcast. What will you do?
Take it as a sign, get a sitter, call a girlfriend and go shopping.
