About me

Industry Non-Profit
Introduction We are a multi-disciplinary center based at the University of Kentucky, with partners at 16 universities in 12 states. We help non-metropolitan journalists define the public agenda for their communities through strong coverage and commentary, including the local impact of regional and national issues, and interpret rural issues for national media. The Institute has a national mission, and makes presentations at workshops and seminars all over the country, but remains grounded in its initial study region of Central Appalachia. It recently hosted the National Summit on Journalism in Rural America.
