Introduction | I'm a happily married mother of two boys (Adam, 3 yrs. & Levi, 21 months) and work as a national speaker for Appelbaum Training Institute (ATI), a child care training company. I travel all over the country and speak to hundreds of teachers at ATI's Saturday child care seminars. I also do consulting on behavior problems and inclusion in schools. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I was a ghost writer for a leading child care expert for many years. During the week, I am an in-home child care provider. I teach my boys and the other child I care for and do not like having the television on. We sing, dance, play and learn each day. I am passionate about being kind and respectful while correcting behavior. My biggest peeve is hearing people talk down to children. My youngest has Down syndrome. His three therapists come to our home during the week. I enjoy learning from them and follow through with their work when they are not here. His extra chromosome has made me a better person. I am his advocate, therapist, and biggest fan. |
