| Introduction | Dr. El Roi, 42, is a Registered Electrical Engineer by profession before he found his true passion through a quite difficult and unusual journey of searching. After his HIV diagnosis in late 2006, God has led him to serve in the HIV&AIDS ministry called “Channels of Hope” in early 2008 here and abroad wherein he discovered his gift in speaking as a facilitator, a trainer and a mentor, and his desire for counseling. He finished his master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling in 2015 at ATS and got his license as a Guidance Counselor a few months later. Prior to all these turn of events, He learned online journaling by writing a blog about his journey with Christ right after his conversion in December 13, 2007, which openly and honestly talked about his struggles, especially with same-sex attractions. Dr. El Roi is presently one of the counselors and the training head of Amara Training and Counseling Center, a ministry that aims to bring hope, healing and wholeness to people. His first and only published article is a short piece entitled “From Bitter to Sweet” that talks about his ministry journey. |
