| Introduction | I am a SAHM of 9. Hubby and I have been married for 32 years. Our family was formed through birth and foster care adoption. We have 7 boys and 2 girls ranging in age from 30 years to 13 years old. This blog is about our family's journey through foster/adoption of a sibling group of 4. Much of the focus of this blog is about our oldest adopted son (19) who has Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), Disruptive Mood Dysregulation (Bipolar/BP), Major Depressive Disorder, Delusional Disorder, Conduct Disorder (CD), ADHD, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Paranoid Personality Disorder with Sadistic Features, and Intellectual Disability (mild, IQ 65). He came home to us at age 5. By age 10 we realized we were not equipped to help him and sought help through an Intensive Residential Treatment Center (RTC). He lived in 14 RTC and never completed a program. He is now homeless because he refused the 15th placement and is not safe or stable enough to return home. |
