Introduction Independent Hill's Maple Patchwork The origin of my blog's name: I grew up in the northern part of New York State and as one friend told his family in Connecticut, you have to go south to get to the Adirondacks from my home. In reality I grew up on my parent's farm which was within the Adirondack Park. The name of the road was originally Independent Hill Road and my Dad attended a one room schoolhouse down the road which was called Independent Hill School. My Mom and Dad made the best maple syrup and we used it for everything from chili to frosting. One of my favorite pastimes these days is quilting. I enjoy spending time with my family. My son and his wife have 5 children and live in the suburban Philadelphia area and my daughter and her husband have 2 children and live in the Pensacola, FL.
