Introduction | A seasoned professional, I have been photographing underwater since 1976 and above water since 1983. My work has won numerous awards. A naturalized Caymanian, I have lived here since 1983. My favorite of eight assignments done for National Geographic Magazine was a 2400 year old Greek shipwreck in Turkey published in the March, 2002 issue. My assignment and stock images have illustrated numerous publications including: National Geographic (beginning with "Down the Cayman Wall", Nov. 1988), National Geographic World. Skin Diver, Scuba Times, Ocean Realm, Sport Diver, Sea Frontiers, Time, Forbes, numerous Cayman publications and several calendars and books including some of my own. My coffee table book “Paradise Interrupted” is a visual portrayal of Hurricane Ivan’s impact on Grand Cayman, September 11-12, 2004. I frequently shoot weddings, commercial advertising, realty, location portraiture, aerials, nature, and underwater. Visit www.CourtneyPlatt.com to see a portfolio of my work.
