Introduction	The teeming Merkle horde is as follows: (From tallest to shortest.) Ben:(35) Working away like the dickens on his DPhil in Oriental Studies. Member of Christ Church college (pictured above) and just for the thrill of the thing he's also rowing for them this year. Bekah: (31) Working on furnishing this very unfurnished house, homeschooling the crew, struggling with the nuances of trying to cook with foreign appliances and ingredients, and getting her clothing line launched. Knox: (9) Reading like a maniac, charging through his 3rd grade homeschooling, learning and loving Latin, and anxious to learn stonecarving. Jemima: (7) Homeschooling away through 2nd grade, taking off as a reader, and dying to do anything that involves running. Belphoebe: (6) Working through her 1st grade homeschooling, and spending just about every other waking moment drawing and coloring. Hero: (4) A very serious and official preschooler, she's dreadfully impatient to learn to write. The rest of the day she spends dressed up as a "fancy girl." Judah: (3) Needs weapons, any weapons, tucked into his belt at all times. Makes realistic gun noises, and is trying to teach himself to stand on his head.
