| Introduction | I am a sister, an auntie, a great-auntie and a friend who has the most incredible friends; I think too much, worry too much, exercise too little and can't get through the day without love and laughter. I have lived with metastatic breast cancer to my liver/diaphragm since May 2005 after having been 'cancer-free' for 13 years. My induction into the cancer world was in May 1992 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and did the full meal deal - lumpectomy, node dissection, chemo, radiation and 5 years of tamoxifen. Now I find myself back in this surreal life after swearing that I was only ever going to 'do' cancer once. To quote my oncologist I have being doing 'remarkably well' - right up to October 09 anyway. But now mets has shown up in my bones, my kidneys and other assorted areas of my abdomen. So to try and keep my over active mind in a reasonable state and hopefully maintain my balance I thought I should try some writing - and thus a blog is born. |
