| Introduction | I have owned and operated The Oak Floors of Greenbank, Inc., a wood flooring contracting company in the Seattle area for over 35 years and Wood Floor Products, Inc., a 20-year-old manufacturing and wholesale distribution firm. I have consulted and written extensively for trade & consumer magazines, written and edited numerous technical manuals & bulletins for wood flooring associations and manufacturers and I wrote the book "Hardwood Floors - Installing, Sanding & Finishing" and accompanying videos/DVDs published by Taunton Press/Fine Homebuilding Magazine widely perceived as the definitive text on the installation, sanding and finishing of wood flooring. I served on the board of directors for the National Wood Flooring Association for 5 years chairing the Technical & Education Committee and co-chairing the Magazine Committee. I helped write and develop the first Technical Manual on wood flooring and helped create the first exclusive magazine on hardwood flooring - "Hardwood Floors Magazine". I helped create and develop the first schools for NOFMA and NWFA to train both beginning and advanced trade's people and continue to instruct periodically for NWFA, NOFMA, MFMA and AHEC. |
