About me

Location Washington, DC
Introduction While working on women’s transportation issues at the U.S. Department of Transportation, I have learned that fundamental rights of access and mobility are limited to women in many developing nations. By being immobile, women are unable to exercise many of their fundamental human rights. My intellectual focus is on the obstacles that prevent individuals’ movement and the ways to empower them into taking control over their lives. Therefore my interest in the intersection of gender and transportation policy and being a member of this very innovative and useful blog. I hope that this blog can build a strong body of quantitative and qualitative evidence and present the importance of integrating gender sensitivities into transportation policies.
