Introduction I am Sam. I am totally bonkers in a wonderful way. I try not to take life too seriously and like my life by quotes. My phone is full of inspirational quotes and mantras. I believe in all things spiritual and I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I've always had a passion for all things sporty. Swimming was my first addiction. Swam with local team and at galas until I discovered boys at school! Was captain on several of the team sports, including rounders and basketball.
Interests Ex Triathlete Body Building convert. Main hobbies include: Eating, food prepping...dreaming of food. Eating! Lifting weights> Will not let my passion for tri die so still love swimming, biking and running. Travelling is another love of mine and I am fortunate to jet set around the world with work.
Favorite Movies Left school behind and the sports diminished - not a regret, as I don't do them. But rather wished I'd kept it all up. University life and a pursuit of a career in journalism took over and sport got neglected - for partying and being sociable. Fitness was always in the background with gym going and fitness classes. in 2012 I entered my first triathlon after signing up to a 12 week to triathlon course at my gym. I soon became hooked and completed various local sprint and Olympic triathlons. I beat my running demons and completed two marathons as well as many other running, triathlon and swimming events.
Favorite Music Raised my game and completed a handful of Half Ironman Distance events in respectable times and then decided to go for the biggy. 140 miles of endurance sport. In between my crazy events and triathlon obsession I broke my ankle falling in a pot hole on the downs, this took me out of action for five months beginning of 2014...but I came back stronger by August and got a personal best in the Berlinman middle distance in 2014. The fire had started in me and I was determined to reach Ironman status.
Favorite Books Training had gone epically well. I was strong, training long distances and my dream was in sight. However the universe obviously did not want me to race. The sequence of events that ran up to my second bone break (foot) were uncanny. I truly believe some things are just meant to happen. At the time I was heartbroken. Five weeks out to the big day, all my training down the pan...little did I know a new journey was about to begin.....
