| Introduction | I love foreign movies and foreign places in general. Canada is great, but there is a lot more out there to see. I spend long periods of time exploring the world via googlemaps satellite (I'm hooked). I want to learn many major languages to be able to communicate with as much of the population as possible, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, German, Russian... I am currently on supplemental language number one, so I guess I've got a ways to go. --- I'm currently in China, and I intend to stay until July. So far, Beijing is amazing and I'm really enjoying my stay (except for the dust-storms). Beijing is jaw-droppingly large, and has such an interesting mix of culture and development. I'm glad I came now. I was worried I'd come too late, but Beijing is well balanced with culture on the one side, and modern development on the other. |
| Interests | I'm greatly interested in Chinese culture and language. I'm currently living in Beijing in order to gain insight into the Chinese way of life, and to study mandarin and written chinese. I also have a strong interest in photography, and cultural identities. Seeing as how many things in China are precisely the opposite of things in Canada, this country has proven a good candidate to observe and learn from. |
