| Introduction | Life in your mid-thirties is revelatory--I am finally acquainted with myself. As a wife, a mother, a nurse, daughter, sister, friend... I am a jewel with many facets; being tumbled and polished to perfection by the Master, a work in progress. First edition. Rough draft. One day, though...one day. I am a Hospice RN. I didn't pick my job...it picked me. Ask me about it sometime. My husband is a Cardiac RN. He is 40 and has Parkinson's Disease. Ask me about that sometime, too. The kids: his two daughters, my "bonus girls," grown and with a daughter each--yes, we're grandparents! And my daughter, his "bonus girl," eight years old going on seventeen. Most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Eyes like the forest and a smile that can cure any ailment. I love lavender and lace and rusty things. Roses and tea and stories told by seasoned souls. I'm a reader, a writer, and a wannabe free spirit with a love of the sea, the sand, the healing breezes that sweep in from the ocean... |
