Interests | Valerie Clark is a highly credentialed producer, director, and writer. Award nominations: Pen/Faulkner, Maggie, Writer's Digest, Before Columbus, Foreword Magazine Awards and Small Business Person of the Year. Clark has created several documentaries for TV on a variety of topics including children with autism, ADHD and other developmental disabilities. Of noteworthy distinction is her documentary Turning Disabilities Into Possibilities, a number of films about the emotional healing of children who have been sexually abused, and films on institutions of higher learning that promote global, 21st century hands-on learning. Highlights of Ms. Clark’s commercial work that have aired on the major networks include: Atlanta Falcons, BellSouth, Coca-Cola, Emory, Georgia-Pacific, Georgia Tech, Home Depot, UPS, and Waffle House. Valerie co-created the inaugural Film Festival for Disabilities showcasing films by, for and about individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in collaboration with Kim Peek, the original Rain Man on whom the movie was based. Valerie has appeared on the CBS Morning Show as well as many other TV and radio programs throughout the country. |
