Introduction | After a lifetime as a musician, Susan Moore Jordan wrote and published her first novel in 2013 at the age of seventy-five, and she hasn’t stopped since. In her first four novels, the author drew from her life experiences as a voice teacher and stage director. These were followed by a two-book series, “The Cameron Saga,” which detail the struggles of two brothers whose lives were irrevocably changed by their service in the Vietnam War. Memories of Jake received a Red Ribbon Award from the 2017 Wishing Shelf Awards. In 2019, Man with No Yesterdays was a semi-finalist in the Kindle Awards and a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Awards. Recently, Jordan has embarked on a “cozy mystery” series, “The Augusta McKee Mysteries.” Two of the eight books in the series were Finalists in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards. Articles by Jordan were seen in Musical America and The Guardian. In July of 2019, she was featured on “The Today Show, Hour Three,” as a Super Senior, in recognition of someone over eighty writing and self-publishing ten books in six years. All of Jordan’s books are “music-centric” and readers comment on the strength of the element of music included in her work. |
