Introduction Nambassa found its roots as a series of hippie-conceived festivals held between 1976 and 1981 on large farms around Waihi and Waikino in New Zealand-Aotearoa. They were music, arts and alternatives festivals that focused on peace, love, and an environmentally friendly lifestyle. In addition to popular entertainment, they featured hundreds of workshops and displays advocating holistic health and spiritual issues, alternative medicine, clean and sustainable energy, self-sufficiency and unadulterated foods. Nambassa2000 revisits the notion that if we are to survive ecologically and spiritually as a cohesive global community in this twenty-first century, then we should urgently consider revisiting the lifestyle and belief systems proposed by the 60's and 70's counterculture revolution. This blog intends to canvas constructive ideas concerning issues such as the diversity of culture, the environment, spirituality and international politics. Nambassa2000 invites you to comment on issues that affect our survival in the twenty-first century, against a backdrop of social and cultural collapse, war, religious misinformation, environmental degradation and community alienation.
