| Introduction | I am a multidiciplinay artist with an MFA From Washington State University under the Fullbright Scolarship program 1991. I was born in Caracas Venezuela and my studio is in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I have a small cabin in the rain forest of Gabante where I spend half of my time. Here you can see some pictures of the cabin in the woods. I gererally paint in large 160x190cm formats with acrylic paint. I love to use lots of paint and thick brushes. I´m working on a series called Sorocuá about a bird of the Torogon specie that visits my cabin daily. He doesn´t behave like the rest of the birds, he stays on a branch for five or ten minutes just looking around, sometimes with his head tilted backwards as if looking at the sky. | Interests | My interest at the moment is in researching my cultural identity, and the syncretic religious believes, in Venezuela, I work with traditional acrylic paint, a digital camera, and digital printing on paper, I also work with wood from Gabante rain forest, Some of my images come from santeria stores, where people buy all kinds of baths and potions to get instant gratification, Potions for love and happiness, lucky baths, and instant fortune, I´m also interested in painting large format pictures with strong colors. I like to share views of my art and artshows, and specially views of my lovely cabin in the rainforest. |
