Introduction Janet Partlow and Glen Buschmann are experienced naturalists and nature educators, owning and operating a consultant business named Bees, Birds & Butterflies.
• Glen has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences and runs a landscape gardening business (Slightly Wild Garden Services). He spent several field seasons working for The Nature Conservancy, as well as ten years working in classrooms with children of diverse age and ability. He has expertise in habitat and housing needs of animals, including 20 years experience with mason bees, and has led classes on pruning, native plants, gardening with children, pollinators, and more.
• Janet has a Master’s Degree in Health Sciences from the University of Nebraska, is a graduate of Manomet Bird Observatory’s Field Biologist Training Program, and completed a field season documenting the bumblebees of Thurston County. For over 15 years she has developed natural history classes, teaching classes on Owls; Shorebirds; Warblers/ Vireos/ Flycatchers; Bats; Butterflies; and Native Plants. She has also been an instructor and adjunct faculty at University of Washington and The Evergreen State College.
