| Introduction | My training at Hornsey College of Art in the 60s laid the basis for a life in painting. The inspiration for my art comes from the visual impact of emotionally moving places or events, including certain motifs (structures in landscapes & buildings, water & light), that have arisen repeatedly over the years, not always from conscious choice. The paintings evolve out of a slow contemplative process, adjusting colours, shapes, surfaces, spaces. This and the activity of painting produces the final image.
