Introduction	In the May 2010 elections, KAAKBAY Partylist ranked 48th with 161,127 votes, with a difference of only 9,416 votes from the last winning partylist which ranked 45th. There were about 187 partylists that vied in that exercise. KAAKBAY was established in February 17, 2001 by a group of professionals, community organizers and former student and youth leaders who bonded together and committed to meaningfully contribute to the development and advancement of the Filipino people and nation. On November 12, 2009, KAAKBAY was officially accredited by the Commission on Elections as a sectoral partylist organization representing the marginalized and underprivileged sectors of Filipino community composed of labor, peasants, fisherfolks, urban poor, indigenous people, elderly, women, youth & students, overseas &government workers, cooperatives, veterans, soldiers & police, barangay officials, drivers &transport workers, teachers, & professionals.
