Introduction I have had an interest in film and video production for as long as I can remember. I was making movies before I was a teenager with my childhood friends. We would make three and a half minute silent films with an 8mm movie camera. Telling a story without dialogue made me appreciate the silent movie makers. I always enjoyed learning, but I didn't always enjoy school. I was capable of making better grades in school, but I sometimes had more fun reading about things I wanted to read about instead of what my teachers assigned. That has turned out to help me relate to some of the students I deal with today. The last twenty years have been busy. I spent the 1980s and 1990s writing and producing local television commercials and doing voice-over work for many productions. From the late 1990s through 2008 I was busy producing accredited continuing education programming for healthcare professionals, fire and emergency workers, and law enforcement personnel. In 2008, I decided to utilize the knowledge and experience I have gained in television production and share it with high school students. I would like to help them move into careers that they can enjoy as much as I have enjoyed mine.

For your birthday, your aunt gave you a maple syrup dispenser shaped like a rooster. Please write her a thank-you note:

Dear Aunt Henrietta, My appetite for pancakes is no secret. The syrup dispenser you sent me has already been put to use. There's no reason to exchange it. Just because the syrup pours out of the wrong end is no reason to return it. Naturally, it has already become the butt of several jokes – ha! Thanks again for the rooster. I can almost hear it crow when we pour it over the pancakes.
