Introduction loving wine more with every bottle.
Interests tibetan buddhism, yoga, skiiing, i wish the world was better, conserving biodiversity through action, organic local food, cookin' up a storm, like mussels, and octopus, capers, olives, basil, tomatoes over linguini, like roasted butternut squash, sauteed shitakes, roasted almonds over arugula with lemon vinagrette and thick slices of artisanal parmesan. teaching science, talking about farming and global climate change. tibetans are the happiest people as a whole i've ever encountered.
Favorite Movies damn i like film. i'm not sure if it is worth it to distinguish between film and movies. they ought to though. i like films like carnivale, dead man, down by law, knife in the water, waking life, lucia y sexo, heaven, deadwood, etc. work by greats like linklater, lynch, allen, kubrick, ashby, antonioni, dreyer, varda, wenders, chen, godard, anderson, wong kar wai, polanski, bergman, jarmusch, maddin, gilliam, hartley, figgis, lang, coppola, miyazaki, fellini, kurosawa, almodovar, kieslowski, and a hell of a lot more. a fan of most that criterion puts out.
Favorite Music keeping it simple: the smiths, smog, bjork, dylan, pavement, pj harvey, patti smith, bonga, orchestra baobob, do make say think, howlin' wolf, songs:ohia, the kills, the yeah yeah yeahs, michael hurley, old modest mouse, broken social scene, iron and wine, bonnie prince billey, skip james, sigur ros, beck, radiohead, godspeed, blonde redhead, mississippi john hurt, bach, neil young, gorecki, part, chopin, nina simone, palace, pixies, the shins, raincoats, and lots of tom waits.
Favorite Books just starting "i am that." a bible for some, still working through it. it requires very slow reading. like digesting a steak per page for your life. otherwise love murakami, even better is ha jin, wish kundera was still young and inspired, same for vonnegut, and i could give a giant list but won't yet. still read classics here and there, but drawn the most to modern fiction. reading a range of books on quantum physics, buddhism, conversations with the dalai lama, etc. subscribe to mcsweeney's, new yorker, dwell, harper's, time out new york and dropped atlantic monthly because the conservatism finally got to me.
