| Introduction | The Renfrew Collingwood Food Security Institute is a non-profit organizations, which was established in 2002, with the aim to increase individual, family and community capacity to attain food security. Through the involvement of representatives and community members we support and encourage iniatives focused on growing, nutrition, cooking, harvesting, sharing and knowledge and resources, leadership development and capacity building.The work of the RCFSI is raising the community’s awareness of the importance of food and food security for our neighbourhood. The specific initiatives provide nutritious healthy food for community members, gives them a way to be involved in the community, develop their leadership skills and self confidence, which in turn enables them to work more effectively in the broader community. |
