LocationAlberni Valley, BC, Canada
IntroductionI live in the beautiful Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island on a tiny farm with a giant Douglas Fir reportedly over 700 years old. I aspire to be an Ent. I'm a writer and author of kidlit, YA, and academic stuff too. In work-speak, I'm an RN and ecotherapist and semi-retired college prof (nursing) still developing continuing ed. courses. In my non-working life, I live among green giants (we're in a rainforest here) and hang out with chickens, goats, and horses, while my spotted kids (Dalmatians) run amuck and my husband cooks zucchini pancakes.
Intereststrees, smiling dalmatians, happy standardbreds, appaloosas and all equines, goats, chickens, gardening, eating just-picked tomatoes and basil, classic kidlit, writing stuff, reading everything, dreaming under green giants, music with rich harmony and deep lyrics
Favorite moviesFiddler on the Roof; The Mission (soundtrack is amazing); Lord of the Rings (of course!) and The Hobbit.
Favorite musica little bit of this, a little bit of that ... love old hymns done in a fresh way. I grew up with 60's/70's Jesus music and am still drawn to it, but also those old rock classics! LOVE Les Mis and so many musicals ... anything by Sarah Brightman, also love Jan Arden and Celine Dion.
Favorite booksanything by George MacDonald, CS Lewis, GK Chesterton, Charles Williams of the Inklings, Tolkien ... Lots of real oldies and comparatively newer authors, such as Amy Tan and Alexander McCall Smith :-)
