Introduction	I'm a former pastor and lapsed evangelical. Lapsed is probably not the right word, but I can't find a word for someone who used to identify with evangelical Christianity, but no longer does. I was committed to the ministry, the Church and my evangelical theology, but have been on a journey of creating and discovering a new identity. There are parts of my Christian faith that still make sense to me and that I am holding on to, and there are people who I love and cherish who are unashamedly evangelical Christians, as well as those who are not committed to any faith. My quandary is how to be authentic and tell the truth about my life while loving and accepting others who think I've gone off the deep end.
