| Introduction | Tanisha N. Bolden’s visions of success are seldom met with failure. Tanisha learned to communicate her emotions through writing at the tender age of 10 upon losing her mother to Cancer. Before graduating from high school, her literary work was regularly published in the Detroit Free Press, as well as The Michigan Chronicle. Tanisha’s writing has become the quintessence of self-expression as an art-form as well as therapy. Today, Tanisha N. Bolden is the Owner/Program Director of The Bold Moves Housing Program, where she provides housing for young ladies and men preparing to exit the foster care system. Understanding the stress and sadness of growing up without a mother, her mission is to provide guidance and support by empowering youth to become responsible, independent adults. Mrs. Bolden is also the nationally recognized author of This Is Why I ROCK: A Self-Empowerment Journal for Youth. She travels from city to city in efforts of helping young people appreciate the many reasons that they ROCK! |
