| Introduction | Barbara Goodsitt is a contemporary realist artist based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Early in her career, Barbara worked as a graphic artist specializing in scientific illustration at the University of Wisconsin. She has also developed a diverse portfolio that includes clients in the medical, educational, business, and nonprofit sectors. Barbara’s artwork has been recognized by the U.S. State Department’s Art in Embassies program and has been included in a recent exhibition at the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro. In addition to her studio practice, she taught Drawing in Color classes in Southeast Michigan (WCC, Northville Art House, Ann Arbor Rec and Ed) As a published illustrator, her work has appeared in numerous books and publications, including projects for the University of Michigan Press, University of Wisconsin Medical School and Mass General Hospital. Barbara is also the creator of a blog which was recognized by Feedspot.com in 2017 as one of the top colored pencil blogs on the web. |
