Introduction The challenge of education is to educate students for the future, a future that holds many unknowns. As teachers we need to shift focus from the daily power struggles within our schools to the larger picture: how we educate students will determine our nation’s path. Teachers are on the front lines; it is up to us to make the discussion student-centric, pushing for curricula and assessments aligned with authentic useful learning. Teaching for the Unknown was established to introduce ideas for reflective thought on education. Short bio: Christine Morano Magee MFA Theatre, University of Virginia; a MA. Employment included: Art Teacher and Curriculum Planner- boys elementary/middle school, Adjunct Professor of Special Education at GW and Director of Education at VSAarts. Founder of Studio Classroom Associates, educational consulting firm providing teacher workshops on studio learning/teaching and converts traditional classrooms into studio classrooms through teacher education, physical space and resource assessment and curriculum planning.
