| Introduction | Breast cancer has always been a cause near and dear to my heart. My grandma and my cousin are both breast cancer survivors. However, on March 3rd, 2011, breast cancer rocked my world. My mom had a biopsy at the end of February, the days waiting for her results were excruciating. I never thought in a million years that she would have cancer. But she did. That Thursday is a day I will never forget, I have never felt such pain and despair. My heart was broken. My mom doesn't have a choice to fight. But I do. I have chosen to fight alongside my mom as she battles for her life. 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime, that's 12% of women in our country. Chances are you know someone that has had a biopsy, someone that has breast cancer, someone who lost their battle to breast cancer, or someone that survived breast cancer. Chances are your life has been, or will be affected by this horrible disease at some point. Help me fight for these people now and help us create a world without breast cancer. |
