| Introduction | My name's Zoë, and I'm a runner. There, I've said it. I wouldn't have called myself 'a runner' a few short months ago, just someone who enjoyed the odd run for fitness and maybe tried to make it round a 10k or half marathon occasionally without keeling over. But these last few months have changed all of that and it's become a passion, nay an addiction, in its own right. At the end of last summer I set myself a target to run a marathon this year, and to do a half marathon in a time I can be really proud of. I'm also a member of Galloway Mountain Rescue Team, and when the team decided to buy a new Land Rover this year, I decided I wanted to help. So, what better way than to use my new-found passion and that longed-for target to raise a bit of cash. I'm going to blog my story along the way, and hope that it'll help to both raise the money I'm aiming for, and provide a wee bit of entertainment. I know I'm going to enjoy the journey, despite of the inevitable pitfalls and painful interludes: I hope you'll come with me, and perhaps reach into your pocket for a few pennies. |
