| Introduction | Like many country singers of the 90’s, Ty Herndon has fused traditional country with slick, rock sensibilities to create great musical productions. Like many of his contemporaries, his blend of genres has proved commercially successful, as his first album became one of the biggest hits of 1995. Herndon is a little wilder and showier on stage than many of his peers, but his records have a down to earth sentimentality that has given him a broad fan base here and in Europe. Ty appeared in the first season of the Television Hit “ Star Search”. In 1993, he won Texas Entertainer of the Year. Later that year, he signed a record deal with Epic Records in Nashville. His first single “What Mattered Most” hit number 1 in a matter of weeks in the spring of 1995. |
