IntroductionRetirement has always felt to me like 'quitting,' which I'm not at all ready to do. I'm finishing up my Interim Pastor position at Community Christian Fellowship, moving back into chaplaincy, and re-starting my adjunct work at John Brown University. I'm discovering more about who I am, which reveals more about what I should do. My work is becoming a reflection of who I am in Christ rather than a duty to perform. I like that. Discipline has become more of a rhythm, and job has become more of a vocation; who I am is released into what I do. I'm looking forward to the next 15 years as I shed more of the unnecessary stuff and adhere to the meaningful stuff.
InterestsWhen the wind is up and I’ve got the time for it, there’s nothing like sailing. It exhilarates me. My favorite people are my grandkids; Jake, Katie, Marcie, and Natalie. Judy, my beautiful wife of 39 years, puts up with me and tries to keep me human. She’s an amazing companion. I love her. I'm a borderline introvert, but have recently become much more outgoing. I love the mountains and the beach and most places in between. I prefer roughing it to resorts, but I’ll take either if it includes hiking, snorkeling, or something fun to do. My passion is missions, teaching, and pastoring. My heart yearns to be wholeheartedly absorbed with Christ in this life journey.
Favorite booksErwin McManus is a favorite author of mine as well as A.W. Tozer and CS Lewis. I don't care for novels much, but I like biorgraphies and most anything that stimulates me to think.
