| Introduction | Unknown to me, MaKayla Creations began when I was about 5 years old. My mother made most of my clothes and I would take the fabric scraps and design clothes for my Barbie doll. Then in late elementary, early middle school, I wold make sketch designs of ideals from my head or something one of my friends thought of. BTW, I can't draw to save my life now. Then at he age of 16, my mother and friend taught me to sew. I sewed all of my clothes and was always looking for more challenging pieces. As I grew older, my sewing/designing declined until I had my second daughter. That rekindled my designer inside. I loved to dress my daughters just like I had dressed my Barbie. They had to look "cute" at all tims, even going to bed. They had all the frills, lace, tulle petticoats and details that made them look and feel special, like a princess. My daughters are now teenagers, 14 and 16, and "cuteness" takes on a whole new meaning, but I haven't lost the desire to have every little girl be a princess. |
