| Introduction | My personal outlook is a spiritual one. I believe in an ultimate Source (God), but wouldn't pretend to be able to plumb the depths of what that means. I also believe in freedom of thought. I am deeply suspicious of those who attempt to enforce an authoritative one-way-of-thinking-about-things stance. From youngest days I remember having an animistic bent. Later I was indoctrinated into my parents' Christian fundamentalism. I began losing that faith as a teen when I thought more freely and studied the worldviews of others. Personal traumas forced me to look for something that made more sense in the way of spirituality. For a while, my bitterness led me to a more nihilistic outlook. I tried embracing scientific materialism. That certainly didn't mesh with my deeper intuitions so I finally allowed myself the freedom to explore what lay beyond those confines. I am an explorer of the cosmos of which I am a part. My blog is a record of my explorations, not an attempt to force my view onto others. |
