He had a weird haircut but seemed real smart. 1977: Was at Fenway the day when Billy Martin fought Reggie Jackson in the Yankee dugout, 1977: In that very same series the Red Sox swept the Yankees and outhomered them 16-0, you can look it up, 1977: Saw Rick Dempsey's famous Babe Ruth home run swing and trot imitation during rain delay on last day of season at Fenway Park, 1978: Bucky Dent's cheap pop homer reaches net atop green Monster and life changes forever, 1979: Had beer with Bill Lee after game in Montreal and interviewed him for Vermont newspaper story, 1981: Was at Olympic Stadium for Rick Monday's pennant-winning homer for Dodgers and in clubhouse during champagne spray, 1986: At Anaheim Stadium to watch Don Sutton's 300th win, 1986: Camping in mountains when ball went through Buckner's legs thank God, 2004: Left my house and walked alone for 30 minutes in middle of ALCS Game 7 after Pedro was brought in and am still in disbelief that Boston won that series, 2007: Boston beats Colorado for second title in four years but I'm anxiety-free and now believe anything is possible in life
