| Introduction | I am a Roman Catholic, stay at home mom of 8 beautiful children ranging from 8-23. I studied Art History at University of Buffalo from 1987-1989. Busy with young children I gave no more thought to pursuing a career in art. Then in 1999 we moved to an area with a local art studio. I studied watercolors under Wendy Matthias at the Holiday Art Studio in Hollidaysburg, PA until 2000. I then stopped painting again for the next nine years while raising and homeschooling my children. Recently I have started painting again. I took a couple classes at Hagerstown Community College in ‘09. I took an online watercolor course by Bob Davies and The Beginner Course from Virtual Art Academy. I am also in the process of going through the certification program for teaching the William Alexander wet on wet oil painting technique. I am constantly discovering new web sites, demos and information online to help me in my mostly self taught art aspirations. Finding time to paint is always a challenge, and thankfully I have found a local art studio where I have the privilege to study under two very talented artists. |
