Introduction Dr. Carter Julian Savage is the Chief Idea Officer for I-AM Consulting. Concurrently, he is an Associate at the W. E. B Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University and a Visiting Scholar at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Savage is the former Vice President of Program & Youth Development Services for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Savage has received a Doctor of Education, a Master of Public Policy (Program Development and Program Evaluation) and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Savage has published several scholarly articles, book chapters and magazine articles on the history of education for African Americans, the social context of education for at-risk youth, the theoretical framework of after school programs, and the development of after-school education programs.
