| Introduction | First and most important to me, I'm a Newfoundlander. I love the salt air, the roaring waves, the cold chill of the Atlantic ocean, and the warmth of family, friends, and even strangers who hail from the Rock. The rest of me is simple enough. I'm currently in my second year of my PhD in cancer research at UBC and the BC Cancer Agency. I work on the cancer control/preventative aspect, and am focusing on breast cancer right now. To the dismay of my girlfriend, I look at boobs all day long - on the cellular level. When I'm not doing some sort of research or teaching you can find me attempting to balance my time between training for triathlons, climbing, and finding time for a dwindling social life that is outside of those two (or four) functions. |
