Nowruz Dance Initiative

About me

Introduction	Angela Schöpke is pursuing a degree International Affairs and Dance Studies at The George Washington University. She is actively working to combine both fields with the aim of developing dance as a feasible and readily used conflict resolution tool. She has done so through original research courtesy of courses, two University Fellowships, and personal experience. She has since presented research findings at the Washington Consortium for Comparative and International Education and Training Spring 2012 Student Research Conference, and looks forward to presenting further research at the National Dance Education Organization’s annual conference in October 2012. Schöpke recently co-founded the Global Dance Initiative, with the aim of seeking to expand and build upon the Nowruz Dance Initiative’s accomplishments and ideas discussed. Schöpke is also Vice President of the United States Youth Delegate Initiative dedicated to the creation of US Youth Delegate position at the United Nations. This Initiative aims to amplify youth voice at the international stage by actively involving youth in policy discussions to develop solutions to global issues and representation of youth perspectives.
