| Introduction | Why run the marathon? Very simply, I wanted to do something in memory of my Grandpa, who died 10 years ago. He was 80-years-old and had started off with prostrate cancer, which spread to his bones and within six months he was dead. In addition, my Aunt had breast cancer and has been in remission for many years now thanks to the breakthroughs in treatment and our understanding of how to tackle this illness.
When you look at the stats they are frightening and ultimately, like many people I am sick of seeing cancer affecting the people I love and care about and if running/completing 26.2 miles in a marathon can raise funds to fight cancer then I’m up for the challenge!
