Post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Sanskrit, University of Pune. I presented a paper on qualia of raga at the Empirical Musicology Conference at Leeds university organised by the society for education, music, and psychology,research(SEMPRE) London University on March 26, 2010. SEMPRE fecilitated my presentation by awarding me their conference grant. I had earlier completed a post-doctoral project in August 2009 on "Semeiosis of Music in Ghatak's Select Films" for The National Film Archives of India. My PhD explores the dependence of musical creativity on avartan;musical cycle. This has wider implications in creativity. I am a Hindustani classical music singer and trained under the last disciple of legendary vocalist Pundit Ramkrishnabua Vaze, Pundit Bhaskarbua Joshi. I am also a keen follower of Ustad Sayeeduddin Dagar in Dhrupad.
