Dr. Wright, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, is a Hip-Hop era scholar whose contributions to academia include examinations of early American sociology, urban sociology and hip hop culture. With a perspective defined by a single parent upbringing, public school education and transition into adulthood during the 1980’s, Dr. Wright offers an interpretation of societal events reflective of these three influences and guided by the thought and writings of Dr. William Edward Burghardt Du Bois. |
