Introduction...completed her MA in English at Virginia Tech in 2006. After graduating from Virginia Tech, she moved to Northern Virginia where she began teaching at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA). Currently she balances her full-time teaching load with being a PhD student at Old Dominion University.

She teaches First-Year Composition, Advanced Composition, Survey of Popular Culture and Business Writing. Her research interests focus on multimodal composition, visual rhetoric, universal design and usability.

She is interested in examining questions about how “texts” (broadly defined) can be designed or redesigned to effectively engage audience members, particularly student audiences with dominant learning style preferences or special needs.

In addition to exploring issues of design, she is also interested in examining the rhetorical exigencies motivating the creation of street art.

With my strong words and jolly singing. After all, bards are poets, not warriors.
