| Introduction | I live on Washington Island where I was born and raised. After high school I moved away in pursuit of education, travel and career. Six years ago my husband, two sons and I moved back to Washington Island. We are blessed to live in the family home my great grandfather built in 1914 where my grandmother was raised. Years later, I grew up in this same house and I am told, in her same bedroom. Aside from driving school bus in the winter, and tour trains in the summer, I care for my 2 boys, 3 horses and 3 dogs. There is a routine to my day that requires a connectedness to outdoor Island life. While I generally find this rhythm of days and seasons satisfying there is nothing better than travel to refresh perspective. I hope to share the passion I have for my Island life here in this blog, as well as my love affair with Iceland and all things Icelandic. More photos on Instagram @trot2island |
