| Introduction | My name is Larry Githens. I am a "native son" of California, a place that my wife and I have called home for many years. Even with its worts...it is a wonderful place to live. After a 30 year career as a Probation Officer with the County of San Diego, I "retired" (not really), did some marketing for my wife's business, while residing in La Jolla, CA. Seeking variety in our life, we moved and lived in Prescott, Arizona for 6 years, and returned to California in 2011. At 84 years young I'm enjoying a life of writing,, photography, Internet research, spending time with family, and staying healthy! Lately, much of my activity has been centered around following politics, trying to write, and trying to get active in local politics as a volunteer. I consider myself a Progressive, although I've voted as an Independent for over 52 years. In the coming months and years, I will concentrate on assisting Progressive causes especially as they relate to the environment, Climate Change, election reform,and anti-war protest! |
