About me

Occupation Proud auntie and godmother, sister and daughter
Location Queens, NY, United States
Introduction I’m a bit late with the whole blogging phenomenon - I am notorious for having delayed reactions. Hopefully, this outlet will further help me hone my skills as a writer, release some tension and provide y’all with some good reading every now and again.
Interests People watching, traveling, people watching while traveling. Listening to music, spending time with my nieces (only 6 and 4 yrs old but they teach me so much), window shopping, reading magazines (although it usually turns into work…), hanging out with my friends (doesn’t happen enough anymore), calligraphy writing (only once in a blue but it’s quite therapeutic.)
Favorite Movies Harlem Nights, Steel Magnolias, all of Spike’s stuff prior to say 2000, Good Will Hunting, Love Jones, The Color Purple, Rain Man, Clueless (Rolling with the homies is CLASSIC!)
Favorite Music I decided to choose a few (just a few) of my all-time fave songs, in no particular order… Nas - One Love (From the chipped tooth days - ha!) This entire song is an effortless, vivid and honest letter from a man to another man but gritty at the same time. Just one of the many reasons why I love his music so much. Earth, Wind & Fire - That’s The Way Of The World (A child is born w/ a heart of gold, the weight of the world makes his heart so cold - WHAT!?! How true is that???) Stevie Wonder - If It’s Magic (But EVERYTHING Stevie has done is dope) Prince - Adore (If God one day struck me blind, your beauty I'd still see - dang Gina, what woman w/ a pulse doesn’t love this song?) His Eye Is On The Sparrow - (Doesn’t really matter who’s singing it, the song always reminds me of my father.) A Tribe Called Quest - Check The Rhyme (Classic Tribe cut plus they’re from around my way and actually shot the video right on Linden - those were good times…)
Favorite Books The Alchemist, Edgar Allen, The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Psalms and Proverbs, Half Of A Yellow Sun
