About me

Introduction Originally from a small town in southwestern Pennsylvania, I now live in Waterloo, Ontario, where I study International Development and Philosophy at the University of Waterloo. In September I'll begin my eight month overseas placement in Huancayo, Peru, working with an organization called GEA: 'Grupo de Emprendimientos Ambientales', or 'Group of Environmental Entrepreneurs'. I'll be joining GEA on a project to promote sustainable community tourism in Huancayo, a city in the central highlands of Peru. This blog is where I’ll post my thoughts on issues related to international development and provide updates on my situation during my time in and around Huancayo. *Update* Due to the inevitable complications inherent to working in developing countries, I am now living in Lima, Peru, (as I have been since I got here) and working for Peru´s Ministry of Environment (a recent change). Go figure.
