Introduction | DJ Zoe Trop AKA Vicki Callahan is a media activist and scholar. She is an Associate Professor of Cinema Practice in USC's School of Cinematic Arts at the Institute for Multimedia Literacy. Research areas include feminist theory, silent film, French cinema, digital media and pedagogy, the expanded cinematic arts, with an interest in new ways of writing media history and theory, as in database narratives, web-based interactive essays, and other parafilmic forms of critical thought. She is author of Zones of Anxiety: Movement, Musidora, and the Crime Serials of Louis Feuillade and Editor of collection, Reclaiming the Archive: Feminism and Film History. She is currently working on a book on the silent film actress/director Mabel Normand. With Lina Srivastava she co-authors the site transmedia activism.com. |
